Special Events

MassFather and Son Mass and Breakfast is Jan. 24, 2010

The Fathers Club sponsors the Father and Son Mass and Breakfast as a time to celebrate the special relationship between father and son. "Opportunities to foster this relationship do occur, but only if we take advantage of them while we can," explains the Fathers Club Board.

The event is Sunday, Jan. 24 at 9 a.m. "Students are encouraged to invite their grandfathers and godfathers as well, so that they also may share in the SJJ enthusiasm and pride. Uncles and brothers are also welcome," says Fathers Club President Richard Wallace.

Fathers and sons are encouraged to extend an invitation to any of our young men whose fathers are unable to attend. If the $10 expense is a problem the Father's Club will provide assistance. In addition, if you need transportation, please indicate on the form below.

"Please let us know if you are attending," encourages Mr. Wallace. "Last year we had 40 walk-ins who paid at the door. If attendance increases, we will need to set up additional tables, so please do register early."

The deadline to RSVP is Wednesday, Jan. 20.

Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras Night and Reverse Raffle Feb. 20

The St. John's Fathers and Mothers Clubs invite the SJJ community and friends to our 2nd Mardi Gras Night & annual Reverse Raffle. "There's no better way to get together with friends and family for a night of excitement, entertainment, and chance," said Clay Hepler, committee member.

Start your evening out with a wonderful meal from Bravo's as you listen to music from both of the SJJ Jazz Bands to put you into the Mardi Gras mood.

From dinner you will be whisked away to an evening of luck, dancing, and chance, as the main event includes a Mardi Gras Gaming theme, a Reverse Raffle, beverages, and back by popular demand; the music of Tom Turner & Slow Burn.

"This is such a fun event," said Fathers Club President Richard Wallace. "It's an opportunity to meet and enjoy other St. John's parents and supporters."

There are two levels of tickets: $30 per person for dinner, gaming and entertainment; $50 per person also includes the reverse raffle. The prizes are $2,000 First place, $1,000 Second place, and a $500 Third place.

The event is at St. John's High School on Saturday, Feb. 20. Doors open at 5 pm with dinner starting at 5:30-6:45. The raffle and other activities begin at 7 PM.
