Fathers Club

Attention Fathers: We are looking for help for a cookout for freshman at SJJ on 9-17-2010 from 12pm to 2pm. Please contact Joe Gernheuser at (419) 467-7497 (cell).

The second Fathers Club meeting of the 2010-2011 school year will be on 9-7-2010 at Granite City in Fallen Timbers mall at 7pm. The club will provide drinks and snacks. Any and all fathers are invited to attend!

We're involved in a lot of activities, guys. And we can always use an extra pair of hands to help us out. When we assist the school, we also help our sons, which benefits everyone.

By the way, if you have a son here at school, you're already a member of the Fathers Club, so please let your voice be heard. Click if you'd like to lend a hand with events and activities.

Here's a bit of what we do:

• Raise funds through 50/50 home football game raffles and the reverse raffle
• Provide opportunities for dads to become more acquainted with the school and other parents
• Provide services deemed necessary by the administration
• Distribute Freshman Signs, hang Christmas lights, clean up school grounds, help with school functions

We've also been known to rent buses for students to attend state playoff football games, provide money for students to do service in Latin America, provide assistance for clubs to travel to competitions and give scholarships to families with demonstrated need.

We meet at 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month from August through May in the Savage Room. The meetings last about an hour and give us all a chance to address issues and concerns and to simply meet with each other and talk. All dads are welcome. We'd really like to see you there.
