Students with mild to severe reading difficulties benefit from
the Kurzweil 3000 Reading Program. The students’ textbooks
and novels have been scanned into the Kurzweil program. As the
student follows along Kurzweil will read the text out loud. Students
can highlight, take notes, look up definitions, and improve their
comprehension. SJJ has the program on several computers in the
building as well as on five laptops that students can borrow. Some
students choose to purchase the program for their home computers.
