2008 Father-Son Golf Outing

Here is a brief re-cap of the Father Son Golf Outing played Friday am. May 30th at South Toledo Golf Club. We had 88 golfers, great day for golf. 1st Place with a score of 58 was the team of Erich Garber, Corey & Collin Heretick, Mike Kontak & Joe Kontak. 2nd place team was Austin & Richard Bohn, Don, Pat, & Peter Mills.

Long Drive contests were won by John Leidel & Joe Kontak; Closest-to-the-Pin contests won by Cameron Conti & Jon Walsh. Rick Conti won long drive contest.

Fathers: Share your time and/or talent
SJJ Father’s Club participates in numerous events & activities during the school year. These projects are for the benefit of the entire school. All SJJ fathers are members of the Father’s Club. We need more people to sign up for events. To do so, CLICK HERE for a sign up sheet, which should be returned to the Principal's office as soon as possible.

Notices:

• The final St. John's Fathers' club meeting for this school year will be on Tuesday May 6th. The meeting will be at SJJ in the Savage room at 7:00 pm. Please try to attend this last meeting. We are in need of a secretary for next year along with a president elect for ('09-'10). We will also be planning the year end activities which include yard signs, the father son golf outing, and plans for the fall football tailgate party. If you have not been a part of this group, think about becoming active. Hope to see you at SJJ next Tuesday.....

The purpose of the St. John’s Father’s Club is to:

-Conduct activities for the benefit of all SJJ students
-Raise funds in an effort to provide SJJ students opportunities to be “A Man for Others.” This is done primarily through the 50/50 home football game raffles and the Reverse Raffle being held February 23, 2008, at SJJ.
-Provide an opportunity for SJJ Dads to become more acquainted with both the school and other SJJ parents.
-Provide any services considered necessary by the SJJ administration.
-Distribute Freshman Signs, hang Christmas lights, clean up school grounds, help with school functions, etc.

In past years, in addition to our yearly activities (see 2007-08 Activities), Father's Club also rented buses for students to attend state playoff football games; assisted financially for students to go on service opportunities in Latin America; provided assistance for a variety of SJJ clubs to travel to competitions; gave scholarships to families with demonstrated need.

Meeting times: The first Tuesday of every Month (August – May) @ 7:00 p.m.; Meetings are held at St. John’s (Savage Room – just inside the main Visitor’s Entrance) unless otherwise directed. These meetings, which normally last about an hour, allow an opportunity to address current events / concerns combined with a venue for fathers to make new acquaintances and establish a network among SJJ Fathers. ALL SJJ DADS (past and present) are welcome. Please email any officer if you have any questions.
