In the junior year, an SJJ student may choose from
a variety of retreat options. These include: the Junior Encounter
Retreat, a small group retreat, the TEC (Teens Encounter Christ)
Retreat offered by the Diocese of Toledo, and various other church
or diocesan youth retreats.
Offering a bridge between the sophomore retreat and the senior
Kairos retreat, the Junior Encounter Retreat (JER) is offered through
the campus ministry department.
Juniors may also make a small group retreat, to be designed by
students, two faculty moderators, and the campus ministry staff.
These retreats may take place any time school is not in session;
their length and format vary depending upon those preparing and
participating in the retreat.
The TEC retreat, offered through the diocese, is offered from Saturday
through Monday on four different occasions during the year, usually
in December, January, February and March. Members of the campus
ministry staff have information on the TEC retreats. Students who
choose this option must inform the campus ministry department prior
to making this retreat.
