Mothers' Club Service Opportunities, 2008-09The Toledo Seagate Food Bank is a non-profit organization, established in 1982 as a regional food clearinghouse, serving 18 northwest Ohio counties. The Food Bank collects donated food from manufacturers, processors, wholesale and retail grocers and individuals, as it becomes available. Mothers' Club will again be volunteering at the Food Bank this school year. We are scheduled to volunteer twice a month, usually the first Thursday and the first Saturday (with a few scheduling exceptions). On Thursdays, we help with food packing and distribution to local veterans and on Saturday mornings we pack food boxes for area senior citizens. What better place to meet other people from the SJJ community and at the same time provide for those in need. In addition, this is a great way for the boys to satisfy their annual community service requirements. This year's dates through January are:
You may call Cathy Dancer (419-826-1213) or Carol Stansfield (419-877-0605) with any questions or for additional information. Click here to see a map (from SJJ) to the Toledo Seagate Food Bank. Please come lend a helping hand. To make this a truly memorable community event, we encourage you to invite other parents, sons, daughters, grandparents and neighbors to come with you. Whatever time you can give to this very worthwhile project is very much appreciated! Toledo Seagate Food Bank |
