Luke Rosen
Luke D. Rosen received his Bachelor of Music (Choral Music Education)
and Master of Music (Choral Conducting Performance) degrees from Bowling
Green State University. At Bowling Green, he also studied composition.
He joined the St. John’s Jesuit faculty in 2004, serving as Director
of Choral and Liturgical Music, Director of the Fox Music Technology
Lab, and moderator of the Promethean yearbook. In addition to his position
at St. John’s Jesuit, he has served as the Director of Music Ministry
at Corpus Christi University Parish, serving the Catholic community at
the University of Toledo, since 2000.
A clinician for the Toledo chapter
of National Pastoral Musicians, he has offered workshops on liturgical
piano and piano improvisation. He was the first student representative
to the Ohio Choral Directors Association state choral board, and currently
serves as webmaster for the organization. He has been an active member
of the Toledo Masterworks Chorale since 2006.
He writes frequently for
the church, premiering many of his compositions at Corpus Christi. Other
composition premiers have taken place at St. John’s Jesuit, Bowling
Green State University, and with the Cleveland Chamber Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to contributing to numerous audio and video recordings, he
has also released two CDs of original works: “Stations of the Cross – Prayer
in Music” and “Comfort and Joy – Christmas at Corpus
Christi University Parish”.
